MÜNCHEN

Münchenin yksi keskeisimmistä paikoista on Marienplatz ja siellä sijaitseva uusi kaupungintalo, Neues Rathaus. // Marienplatz and the new town hall, Neus Rathaus, are maybe the best known places in Munich.

Hallo! Niin kuin kuvista näkee, sain viettää syyslomani alun Münchenissä, Saksassa. Matkasta teki erityisen se, että lensin Müncheniin yksin ja kentällä minua vastassa oli meillä kuukauden asunut saksalainen vaihto-oppilas sekä hänen perheensä. Perhe asuu kauniissa saksalaisessa kylässä, joka sijaitsee noin puolen tunnin ajomatkan päässä Münchenin keskustasta. En tiedä, johtuiko se siitä, että olen jo aika tottunut saksalaiseen elämäntapaan vai siitä, että ymmärrän saksaa jo yhtä hyvin kuin englantia, mutta tunsin joka tapauksessa oloni heti alusta asti kotoisaksi. Vähän yli neljä päivää kestänyt vierailuni oli lyhyydestään huolimatta tosi onnistunut. Siitäkin huolimatta, että sää taisi olla jopa Suomessa parempi kuin Saksassa. Huonon sään takia emme pystyneet myöskään tekemään kaikkea, mitä perhe oli suunnitellut, mutta ainakin jäi paljon tekemistä seuraavallekin vierailulleni!

Lauantaina menimme junalla Münchenin keskustaan ja kiertelimme ympäri vanhaa kaupunkia ottaen kuvia ja kierrellen kaupoissa. Monella muulla oli varmasti samat suunnitelmat, sillä keskusta oli täynnä ihmisiä. Onneksi minulla oli hyvät oppaat mukana, joten minun tarvitsi vain kulkea mukana ja näkemisen arvoiset paikat löytyivät helposti. Tunsin oloni muutenkin jotenkin enemmän kuin vain turistiksi, sillä puhuimme perheen kanssa vain saksaa ja meninpä pariksi päiväksi mukaan kouluunkin!

Hallo! As you can see from the photos I spent few days of my fall break in Munich in Germany. The trip was more special for me because I travelled alone to see the exchange student who spent a month with us and her family. The family lives in a beautiful german village, from where it takes about half an hour to drive to Munich city centre. I felt instantly like at home there and was happy that I could understand german as good as english. My about four days long visit was way too short but I really enjoyed every moment of it! Even though the weather could have been better... It was actually better weather in Finland than in Germany! Due to the bad weather we couldn't do everything that the family had planned but that's also a really good reason to go back there! 

On Saturday we took the train to the city centre of Munich and walked around in the old town taking photos and looking around on the stores. We definitely weren't the only ones who had planned that because the city was really crowded. Luckily I had really good guides with me so I just had to walk with them and look at the sights. I actually felt like I was more than a tourist because we spoke only german and I even went to the school for couple of days!

Viktualien Markt oli täynnä ihmisiä, mutta siellä käyvät kuulemma myös ihan paikallisetkin, eivätkä vain turistit. Alue oli täynnä erilaisia kojuja, joissa oli tarjolla kaikenlaista perinteisestä curry wurstista ja oluesta vihanneksiin ja erilaisiin tavaroihin.  // There were quite many people on the Viktualien Markt and the family told that many locals go there as well as the tourists. There were lots of different things to buy, from curry wurst and bier to various vegetables.

Kävimme lounaalla aasialaista ruokaa tarjoavassa ravintolassa. Ruoka oli tosi hyvää ja tunnelma ravintolassa ihanan rauhallinen keskustan hälinän jälkeen. Paikan erikoisuus taitaakin olla sen hieman piilossa oleva sijainti, sillä se sijaitsee aivan keskustassa, mutta vain harva tuntuu löytävän sinne.
// We had lunch at an asian restaurant, where the food was delicious and the atmosphere was really cozy. The speciality of the place is that not everyone seemed to know about it, although it's really located in the center of Munich. 

Illalla menimme syömään olympiapuiston tornissa sijaitsevaan ravintolaan. Tornista oli tosi hienot näkymät Münchenin yli ja näkymä vaihtui ravintolan pyöriessä hiljalleen ympäri. Harmi vain, että sumuisen sään takia ei nähnyt alpeille asti, mutta pimeän tullen punaisena loistanut Allianz Arena sentään näkyi.

// In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant on the tower of the olympic park. From there we had really nice view over Munich and we could see to all directions because the restaurant was going slowly around. Unfortunately we couldn't see the Alps because of the fog, but we did see the Allianz arena which was shining red.

Suklainen jälkiruoka näytti ihanalta -ja kuulemma myös maistui. Minulle valmistettu maidoton sorbetti-jälkiruokakin oli kuitenkin tosi hyvää ja ihanan raikasta illallisen päätteeksi.
// That chocolate dessert looked so delicious -and obviously tasted like that too. My special, milk-free sorbet was also so good and fresh after the main course.
